そもそも大相撲とは神事であり、興行であり、伝統芸能であり、非現実の世界。何故髷を結うのか、何故まわしなのか、何故女人禁制なのか、理屈立てて説明できないことがいくらもあるのです。純スポーツとして考えた場合も、相手を押し出せば勝ちという競技性でありながら「体重別」になっていないなんて、理不尽の極みでしょうが。何を今更「八百長」などに文句を言うのか。

ディズニーランドのキャストが「ミッキーはいないよ」「あれは被りものだよ」とか言いますか？お化け屋敷の職員が「全部人形です」「本アトラクションのお化けはすべて作りものです」なんて言いますか？ヒーローショーのナントカレッドがサインを求める子供に「俺レッドじゃないから」「先週は怪人やってたんだけど」なんて言いますか？言わないでしょう。彼らは夢を売っているから、夢を壊さないようにするのです。それが、プロフェッショナルの生き様なのです。廃業したからといって、夢を壊すような振舞いをするのは、プロの生き様ではありません。

若ノ鵬に大相撲の何たるかを教えられなかった、師匠・兄弟子には猛省を求めます。
